Student Council

Our student council is made up of two representatives from each tutor group in the Academy. All students were democratically elected by their tutor groups. The student council meets fortnightly on a Monday morning and are responsible for bringing suggestions from their tutor groups as well as contributing to whole school issues. 

This term the Student council have contributed to the following school issues;

• Representing Durham Academy at the ALP advantage event at Dene Academy
• Selecting the Christmas Rewards trips
• Supporting with staff interviews
• Meeting with visitors and discussing whole school experiences
• Supporting at the Academy open evening
• Selecting and supporting a whale school charity collection for Christmas
