Transition

At Durham Academy, we pride ourselves on treating every student as an individual to ensure that every student enjoys a smooth transition into secondary school.

Throughout the school year we run a comprehensive  transition programme of events with our local and feeder primary schools. Projects range from experimenting in Science, PE/Sports events, problem solving in Maths or being Creative in Art.

Choosing and getting the right school for your child is an important decision. We want however to give you every opportunity to get to know us and see us on a typical day. We not only welcome you to attend our Open Evening in September but actively encourage you to visit for a personalised tour in the school day before the summer.

This is so they can see our caring ethos in action, the quality of our lessons and the enthusiasm and exemplary behaviour of our students and ask any questions that you may have about how we might meet the needs of your child.
